Soundbar connected to Mac via bluetooth

I'm going to buy a soundbar to replace iMac speakers (I want to preserve the integrity of the native speakers and use less the headphones).
I have found this soundbar https://www.sharpconsumer.com/audio/htsb95/ at a large-scale retail trade.
Can I connect this soundbar to iMac via bluetooth?

Depends! What version of Bluetooth is in your Mac? What Bluetooth is in this soundbar? I ask because through the years of Bluetooth version don't seem to speak to device more than only one generation behind it!

Two versions away and Bluetooth tech won't connect because the frequency is slightly different! So buy a DAC and some 5.1 speakers to setup!

Soundbar has an optical digital audio input and iMac has an Headphone/optical digital audio output (minijack).
Can I connect them?

I have bought the soundbar.
It works amazingly via bluetooth.
Maybe I can try if the sound goes even better via aux cable but it's already great.
To test my theory, do I need a simple cable aux/aux or a cable aux/optical?

Tos links in optical! There are several but in anyones situation you have buy a cable that will match your setup in both devices!

Cable aux/optical arrived today.
Excellent audio quality, dramatically better than bluetooth.
