As the title states, I have a Sprint iPhone 5S that I acquired broken, fixed it and then sold it.
Long story short, the family I sold it to now wants to use it on Ting and says that I must have Sprint unlock it for them.
Prior to selling it, I noticed that when going into Settings/General/About that the carrier was not labeled as Sprint, but simply said "Carrier 16.1"
Does anybody know what that means?
I DID call Sprint and confirm that it was a Sprint phone. They told me the ESN was clean, not blacklisted, etc, and would be able to be put on a Sprint line with no issues.
The weird thing is that they said that this phone doesn't have any history of being on Sprint service..
I don't understand what Carrier 16.1 is. Does anybody have any idea?
