I found this for 256GB M3 AIR, is this some improvement?
I think they also have 16GB inside. The embargo NDA videos already showed the 512GB and 1TB get ~3000MB/s. It seems Apple didn't want "reviewers" getting a 256GB variant to show the slower speed, all the review units are at least 512GB.

Weird that the M3 SSDs are slower than the M1's. Is there a particular reason for that?
Think the M1 had two 128 SSDs, and because of Covid etc the M2 (and apparently M3) have one 256 SSDs, which is slower than two 128 SSDs. Something like this.Weird that the M3 SSDs are slower than the M1's. Is there a particular reason for that?

Apple has such loyal customers but this nickel and diming has been just so blatant. I am glad finally things are catching up. People weirdly justified everything just because Apple was the richest company and apparently all it's nickel and diming decisions were right as the stock price was on the rise.Tim Cook is just greedy. It is no wonder Apple is crashing at the moment. NVIDIA is nearly as big as Apple at the moment and it is expect that NVIDIA will overtake Apple as the 2nd largest company in the world in a few weeks (after Microsoft).
For $100, you can buy 1TB SSD's that do 7000MB/s +, so it doesn't cost Tim Cook alot of money to put descent SSD's in these machines if he wanted to.

For $100 for 1 TB, I would expect the life of such an SSD to be a couple of months.Non sense. During Covid 1TB SSD’s that do 7000MB/s+ were still priced at $100.
There was no reason to have slow 256 GB SSD other than $$$$$$$$$$.
Apple is making a killing on these RAM and SSD’s, it is not even funny.

While you can't get really awful storage chips, you can get really awful controller chips.
Apple could give more for the money, but putting bargain basement crap into a Mac isn't going to happen.
If you want better spec components that cost more $Weird that the M3 SSDs are slower than the M1's. Is there a particular reason for that?
Yes. ”We want you to review the models people won't buy but will get impressed by.”It's so shady to "Cook the reviews" like this
(By not giving out any base models & giving out 16GB RAM models)
