You're not giving us much information here.

Is the external SSD the boot drive?

What is ON the internal hard drive?

You also have an external TM backup?
No longer working?

Do you want the contents of the SSD to completely REPLACE what's on the internal HDD?

Or... is there stuff on the HDD that needs to be saved?

Again, you'd better explain things better before anyone can help.

I think you can use Carbon Copy Cloner to clone external to external if that is what you are interested in doing.

Madhatter, that's what I was going to suggest... IF we knew that's what he has in mind.
Does he want to "add to" what exists on the internal now?
Or... does he want to "wipe the internal HDD clean" and clone the contents of the SSD to it?
