Help please! :)

I have an old external drive/server with loads of old jpg.-photos. I want to upload them to icloud for safety (old drive etc..)

I have them organized in folders by year and month or acitivity. (Subfolders)

How on earth do I upload them into iCloud photos while still maintaining folder structure? I have tried to upload into albums via browser but it just places them in a flat structure regardless of folders. It also takes forever with 20 000 pictures.

I have tried to download iCloud-app in my Windows 11 PC but when I make a folder in File Explorer in iCloud-photos it just says "Sync pending" no matter what i do.

I have enough space, everything is up-to-date.

Help?

I am thinking more about redundancy and availability. What good are those photos laying on a drive somewhere?

Thanks for the reply anyway.
