General Stupid Question: How to GIFT apps via iOS?

iOS 11.0.3 (newest)

Can't find any option for gifting an app via the iOS App Store on newest iPad Pro and iPhone 7. Anyone?

Previously this was easily possible (and worked perfectly for years) with the sharing feature. When I tap the three dots on an app's product page there is no such an option any more. Maybe I'm missing something (and will feel very moronic soon)?

Thx in advance for enlightenment and your patience anyway.

BTW checked on an older iPad (the latest 9.7") w iOS 10.3.3 and there is no such option (gift app) as well.

There are apps with the Gift button (p.e. that one that you posted) and some without (see attachment). Why?

You can’t gift free apps.
