iPad Swiping in from the side for multitasking apps

Anyone figure out how to do this with a mouse? I click the edge of the screen and drag in (messages should come up) but you can’t - have to use my finger. Appreciate the help.

Actually, you dont drag. you move the mouse more more toward the right (like swiping). I had a hard time fingering that out as well. same with home screen, lock screen. when you move the cursor down, it shows the home bar. Swipe down again and you go home home. Do it further and you get the app grid.
