sync tones to iPhone?

does anyone know how in finder you can sync custom tones to the iPhone? I started a clean install and I can't see a way to add them in finder

Have u tried just dragging them on the iPhone Icon in the Sidebar?

I'm finding my iPhone shows up in the sidebar, and it says I'm syncing when I press the sync button, but nothing actuall gets transferred to the phone. Music, books, photos Can't figure that one out

It’s a weird new way to manage the phone I have to say

It may be similar to recent versions of iTunes where you had to first copy your tones to your iCloud Drive (in a folder called Tones or your choice), then drag them from there onto your phone in iTunes, or now to your phone in Finder. (Non-iBook Store purchased books required a similar procedure with the iBooks app.)

EDIT: I'm not sure if using iCloud Drive was actually a requirement for tones, but it was for books.
