Resolved Syncing Contacts to Messages from pers account to work MBP

Kind of a convoluted issue. I have a personal iCloud account that i use for everything including my work iPhone. All my contacts are stored there, too. I just got a new MBP for work, but it's locked down a bit: Contacts, Safari, Notes, Calendar, iCloud Drive, and Keychain are all disabled by a profile installed. Messages do sync, however. The problem i'm encountering is that my contacts in Messages aren't syncing. I saved all my Contacts to a file and sent it to myself and then saved them into Contacts on my work MBP and they're all there. The only thing is that numbers and contacts in Messages didn't sync to the contacts in Contacts.
Any way to fix this?

I added my Google account to the MBP and it downloaded contacts from there which updated the contacts in Messages.
