A lot of T-Mobile stores along with the other carriers will not be receiving any iPhone 5s. They will instead encourage you to order one from the store to be shipped to your billing address.

I would suggest calling your local T-Mobile to see if they have stock but more than likely they have closed by now.

If you are in the Boston area, none of the T-Mobile stores will have any stock.

T-mobile will be carrying stock of iPhone 5c and 5s but supplies will be limited and not all stores will carry them. Once you buy a particular size (16GB, 32GB, or 64GB) there is no way to upgrade the memory size short of buying a new phone.

That i know, but last time t-mobile only carried the 16gb model when the 5 was released. I know of the stores that usually carry the stock of the popular phones when most dont.

But lets say worst case, can i walk up to the APPLE store and pick up a 64gb phone that will work with T-Mobile?

Nope. T-Mobile reportedly won't be getting any in store. Online only, per reports.

What time will we be able to order the 5S from the T-Mobile website? The 5C says 12:01am PST but nothing about the 5S.

IF you buy the iPhone 5S from T-Mobile = Locked and you will have to request from them to get it unlocked should you wish to put another SIM into it at any time later in future.

IF you buy iPhone 5S from apple store for FULL PRICE = Unlocked

Whats confusing?

Nothing really...

AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile iPhone 5S Model will Support:

IF Purchased from (*May Need to get Unlocked):
AT&T* or T-Mobile* or Apple Store:
- 4G + LTE on All GSM Networks in North America + LTE Support on many other networks around the globe

IF Purchased from:
Verizon or Apple Store as Verizon CDMA Enabled Model (Factory Unlocked):
- 4G + LTE On All North GSM Networks in North America + 3G & LTE On Verizon + LTE Support for many other networks around the globe

Both Verizon CDMA Enabled iPhone 5S and Apple Store Purchased GSM or CDMA Enabled iPhone 5S for Verizon will be Factory Unlocked (Please do not ask why as I'm tired of explaining - read my other thread, they just will be 100% Factory Unlocked)

There are two models:
A1533 GSM and A1533 CDMA

A1533 GSM = Only GSM (CDMA Disabled Permanently)
A1533 CDMA = CDMA + GSM (Same phone, Same everything identical 100%, just with CDMA chip enabled)

Why CDMA is disabled in one and not the ones sold by Verizon....Ask Apple...

Really? I called 2 different stores today and specifically asked about the 5s and their stock for tomorrow. I was told that they would have the 5s in stock but both said they didn't know how many had come in.

So all in all i can just walk into the apple store and pick me up a phone.

Saved me a trip a guess.

Both reps I spoke with said there no reservations being taken.
1st come 1st serve they said. One store is opening up at 8am and
the other store is opening up at 9:30am.

You can definite get a T-Mobile (Unlocked) iPhone 5S 64GB from the apple store on launch day as long as supplies last. It will cost $849.00 USD

I called two apple stores and both specialists told me the Tmobile version was not unlocked. Do not take that risk.

The wording changed on the website from unlocked to contract free as well. With supplies constrained, i seriously doubt apple would set aside unlocked versions for scalpers to pick up.

if you can manage to get an unlocked phone (unlikely), then plug in the sim and tada.

but if i get the tmobile version would it then be plug and play or would i have to call tmobile to activate.

its like any other sim card phone. you plug in the sim card and go. not sure the confusion.

tmobile version= plug in sim card from tmobile. not sim card from anyone else.

if that sim card is already active, you dont have to call anyone.

I know. But there are tmobile iPhones out there that are locked to tmobile. Also, considering the fact they changed the description of the phone to "contract free" instead of "unlocked, contract free" like before makes me seriously have doubts. Two human beings have told me not unlocked, i'm not taking that risk.

Historically, apple hasn't sold unlocked phones on launch day. Go with history.
