iPhone Telephoto Question

I have read conflicting reports. Does anyone know if the telephoto lens on a iPhone 11 Pro Max is a 2x optical or 4x optical?

2x optical. The confusion is Apple saying the phone has 4x optical zoom. What they mean is if you go from the ultra wide lens to the telephoto it’s a 4x zoom. But the actual telephoto lens is only 2x.

It’s like saying my arm has a 2 meter reach as I can reach 1 meter behind me and 1 meter in front of me.
