I was forced to sell my Sierra macbook.

So using a 17" mabook pro pre unibody.
It is good machine and love the big screen, but....... it heavy.

Thing is I take it to and from work everyday, not practical to leave at work.

Anyway I have an older a1211 with 10.7.5 non up gradable due to GFX.
It has recently had new install and had actric silver paste applied to cooling system.

I know browsers are no longer supported.

I need to use chrome, for google docs at work.
Firefox just for browsing not youtube etc.
I have office 2011.

the 15" pro is lighter but battery dead.
the 17" is just too heavy and as i'm disabled it awkward for me to carry from car park to desk.

I'm still looking to buy a newer, 2010 or newer mac but cannot until new year.

Is it too much of a downgrade?
Should I struggle on with the 17" until I an get a newer 13".
