Resolved Text message app, need to be contacted without invite

I am looking for a text message app that ALLOWS ME to be contacted by random people. I am doing some advertising at school and don't want to post my personal number all over school, and just needing text capabilities. I have looked at some apps (textplus, textfree, and others) but it seems that I have to invite people to text me. I need an app that allows completely random people that have my number to be able to text me.

I don't know of an app that will do that, but I suggest you get a free google voice number, then get the google voice app, and just message through that. It's a free number in your area code, that will allow you to even advertise the number, it'll come to your phone, but it's not your "real" number.

I have a google voice number I use for craigslist. It works well.
