Well, if they could get an iMac with a 19" screen and a weighted base, and sold it for $2499, it could be a big seller. But, that's a big "if".

I personally think that Apple should move the entire line to 17" LCDs, and someday offer a 19" model as an "ultimate" configuration.

Why not make the screen demountable?
Screen size would then not have to be compromised by the upturned cereal bowl.
I think it could be a backward step forwards out of this design cul de sac.
Form appears to have mislaid function.
Forget the over-emphasis on theme & focus upon manufacturing ease & costs.
I was always led to believe that this was in no small way important in product design!

I still can't understand why they don't develop a modular form of construction, possibly lego-like in it's form, permitting easy customisation, expansion & upgrading.
The roots are seeded in the Xserve.
