I wanted to play some ‘industry standard 720p’ 
encoded video on a Mac mini 2006. I found QuickTime to be a laggy mess. PPCMC7 FFplay, in its native PowerPC build is also not able to keep up. I am excited however to see what happens with a native Intel build. VLC 0.9.1 saved the day, was able to watch my HD movie perfectly.
