Hi

I decided to risk, and I bought Mafia 3 from Steam for my Mac Pro 2012: 12-core (2.4), Geforce 630 GT 2GB (MacVidCards), RAM 16GB. It doesn't work on Sierra, High Sierra, Mojave and Catalina.

I know that NVidia cards aren't supported
I'm planning to replace the graphic card in my Mac Pro to run this game in the near future.

I read that mafia should work with R9 280X:

Yes, "jeanlain" is correct, the cMP supports Metal fine with certain video cards. I have had great luck with my R9 280X Toxic edition running F1 2016 and yes, Mafia III is working also.

I know that MacVidCard can flash this card for me.

Can you confirm that I can run this game with R9 280X on my Mac Pro?

Do you know other AMD graphic cards for Mac Pro that I should buy to run this game?

Have you thought about Boot Camp?

Thanks for the answer.

No, I prefer to play games on Mac and Linux using different versions of these operating systems. In this case, I don't want to use Windows as a third operating system. It's too complicated for me right now.

On the other hand, I saw a video on youtube about how slowly Mafia 3 works with Geforce 640 on the Hackintosh, and I need a Radeon graphic card for my Mac Pro to play it
