Apple Music "The Nightmare Before Christmas" in Apple Music NOT original soundtrack

While I'm very pleased to have "original motion picture soundtrack" to "The Nightmare Before Christmas" added to Apple Music this week in Atmos, this is NOT the original soundtrack. There is a lot of "new" music, and NONE of it is the same as is in the movie :/

Wonder where this recording came from, since it's OBVIOUSLY not the soundtrack? Any inside info?

After a bit of Googling, it seems the soundtrack has ALWAYS been like this - so odd.

Literally NONE of the songs are actually from the movie - most have the same performers, but nowhere NEAR the same performances, and there are large swathes of music NOT in the movie, etc. Even the narration (done on the soundtrack by Patrick Stewart, who also is NOT in the movie) is considerably expanded on the "soundtrack" vs. the movie, with completely different words, etc.

FWIW, the new Atmos version is wonderful ... just don't expect it to be the same as the movie 🤷‍♂️
