The Sims 2 Graphics Question

I'm having a slight problem with the graphics in the Sims 2. I have all the settings at maximum, but the graphics look a little blocky. I've tried every setting possible. I've seen screen shots on fan sites and the graphics look so crisp, why can't I see, to do that on my MacBook Pro?

BTW, if it means anything, I have all the expansion packs installed.
