iPad Three Active Apps at once on iPad in iOS 12?

Did iOS 12 improve any capability in terms of Multitasking, for example, allowing ipad 6th generation (2018) / iPad Pro 9.7 running three Active Apps at once in iOS 12? In iOS 11 the background apps will grey out when you drag the third apps over on my A10 iPad and A9X iPad Pro.
