For videos I download, what determines whether a thumbnail will appear for it in the Finder? What determines whether I will get merely a blank black square, a blank white square, or a helpful thumbnail showing me a frame of the video so that I don't have to...start the video...to see what's on it?
From what I have observed over the years, it's random. I never know whether I will get a thumbnail or not.
