Thunderbolt 4 in 2018?

Do you think Apple will implement Thunderbolt 4 in 2018 and ditch older devices?

It's been speculated that Apple will announce a new 8K cinema display in year 2018. The only 8K monitor on market right now requires dual DP 1.4 connection. A single thunderbolt 3 is unlikely to handle 8K at 60Hz.
Will Apple allow using dual thunderbolt 3 connection, or forcing people to buy a new Mac with new ports?
