Carrier Tmo Cust: ATT vs Sprint mini - which is better?

I'm a T-Mobile customer looking for an iPad Mini 2.

Am I better off with a Sprint branded or ATT branded device?
I'm concerned with LTE coverage. If I don't have LTE will I drop down to 3G?

I had ATT iPhone4 that would not stay in 3G a lot and would go down to Edge.

With the different bands am I better off with a ATT device or Sprint device?

I've had great luck with AT&T on my Air with LTE coverage just about everywhere. I'm in a suburban area but certainly not near any major cities. Not sure that helps you but my experience has been great so far with AT&T.

The AT&T and sprint iPad mini 2 models are identical. There is no difference except what SIM card comes with the unit

They work on T-Mobile

Except for tmobiles new channel 12 which is being deployed

But no apple cellular device right now comes with channel 12
