Toggle Dark Mode with AppleScript

tell application "System Events" to tell appearance preferences to set dark mode to not dark mode

Use this AppleScript one-liner to toggle dark mode however you see fit. Perhaps the most useful thing to do is to create an Automator workflow (use the "Run AppleScript" action) which can be assigned a keyboard shortcut or even be added to the Touch Bar.
