When we switch on Airplane mode by googling the button in Settings app of iOS device. It turns off the WiFi and mobile data as expected. But it does not turn off the Bluetooth. This is not expected.

In fact it is expected. iOS will remember your choices for Bluetooth and Wifi, whether or not to disable them or leave them enabled, when enabling Airplane mode.

Default AirPlane mode turns off cellular and wifi. FAA allows bluetooth accessories, headphones, keyboards, hearing aids, etc during all phases of a commercial flight and with the AirPods, AppleWatch, Beats headphone line up Apple likely felt it was more convenient to leave BT on.

Like @Paco II mentioned though if you turn bluetooth off in AirPlane mode the next time you turn on AirPlane mode it will remember that and shut off bluetooth.

To be clear, iOS remembers your settings for Bluetooth and Wifi when enabling Airplane Mode.

This issue here is not remembering of the state after re-enabling airplane mode.
what I had pointed out is that after the airplane is enabled and all the while the airplane mode remains enabled, the WiFi gets disabled but the bluetooth remains enabled if the Bluetooth was active before enabling airplane mode.

It is not just because it was active before enabling Airplane mode. It is because at some point in time, you enabled Airplane mode and then re-enabled Bluetooth while Airplane mode was still turned on. iOS remembers that. So the next time you enable Airplane mode, Bluetooth stays enabled. It does the exact same thing for Wifi. On your device, Wifi is being disabled in Airplane mode because you have never re-enabled it during Airplane mode.

To make sure Airplane mode ALWAYS turns off Wifi and Bluetooth:

- Turn on airplane mode.
- Then IN SETTINGS, turn off Wifi and Bluetooth.

From now on, they will turn off automatically in airplane mode.

Using the control center only disables connections; it doesn't actually TURN OFF WiFi and Bluetooth. You have to do it from in settings to really turn them off. iOS will then remember that choice for future Airplane mode usage.
