MP 7,1 Top ports re-routable?

Would anyone who has opened a 7,1 up, or serviced one be able to speculate on whether the top ports could be re-routed / extended internally to a pci slot at the back of the case?

Could the plugs themselves be pulled down out of the top case, turned 90 degrees towards the rear, and then be plugged into an extension?

I don‘t own one but it seems like the sockets are soldered to a breakout board that includes the power button & case sensor. So I suspect not.
