iPhone transfering to att

I had a tendga 8000 phone that took a nano card I bought from att.it came with the little black cards or both reg, and nano cards .but when we went to put it in the I phone 3g.it doesn't want to stay in the slot does any one know if these work with the I phone 3gs/and if I can transfer my new card I just bought for this other phone that isn't working right onto the iphone? thank you
