I'm having trouble connecting to public wifi connections on IOS 10.3.3 on my iPhone 6s. In the wifi settings, I see the network being checked, but it doesn't show any security webpage to get connected. Even though the public wifi connection is checked, its still showing LTE on the top instead of the Wifi icon. It's been happening to all public wifi connections in different locations (Starbucks, Target, Mall wifi, etc) , even the Apple Store wifi took forever to connect even though there was no security screen to get connected. Is anyone else having this issue? Should I bite the bullet to upgrade to IOS 11.2.1 and risk suffering battery and performance issues and have some sort of chance to fix this wifi issue? Yes, I have checked my battery wear level and its 8% battery wear.
