I bought Mac mini today, and bought a Mini Display Port(video) + USB(audio) to HDMI Adapter

and a HDMI cable (male to male, because adapter and AQUOS both are female).
Then I connected them together, when I power on Mac mini, the AQUOS shows a message as below:
"The Video singal can't be received connectly, please config on input euipment"
I can't view mac mini's screen, I want to know if there is any setup or config to use HDMI?
please help me! I am new Mac fan, today is my first day of Mac!
AQUOS HDMI spec:480i/480p/1080i/720p
