Hey,
A lot of people are complaining you can't turn off predictive type on ios8 but if you hold down the smiley face in they keyboard for emoji there's an option to turn it off! Just found it thought some people would want to know. :)

There is also a sweet spot where you can actually swipe it up and down. It's very inconsistent at the moment but I assume It will get worked out.

Yeah, seems like there are a couple of methods to do that.

Anyone seeing predictive type on iPad mini retina? It's not there for me on beta 1.

I'm so glad you found that! I lost my predictive text and couldn't work out how to get it back until just now

This was useful for me for the opposite reason. Mine had turned off and I couldn't figure out how to get it back, this works for turning it back on too.

I use 2 keyboards beside Emoji , French and English . I switch from one to the other depending in what language I'm writing .Will still that work with predictive type ?

There's also a way to hide predictive type by sliding down on the gray bar where the words are shown. And you can slide it back out when needed
