UK Edu Discount in NY?

Does anyone know if you can use a UK educational discount at the Apple store in NY? I have a university id card and have used it before in the UK store.

I'm on holiday next week and plan to do a bit of shopping (new 12" iBook, 60gb iPod, and nano for the missus)

I don't know about Apple in particular, but I know that to get a student discount for other stuff abroad you need an ISIC card as a rule. Your NUS card usually won't be accepted. Someone else will hopefully be able to clarify whether Apple will accept your student status or not.
