I am using VMWare Fusion on a Macpro 2008 with two network ports. I am trying to get a firewall working as a guest OS which has an interface bridged to Ethernet2. Physically Ethernet2 is connected to a cable modem. I need to have the firewall's virtual network port connecting to the ISP's dhcp and get an IP address. The issue is that if Ethernet2 is set to dhcp it will get the IP address but the firewall will not get an IP.

From the VMware forums this problem has been resolved on a Windows Host Machine by unbinding TCP/IP from the interface. Therefore is it possible to do the same on this interface?

thanks
Gary
