General Update to iOS 7 from iOS 7 beta?

I have heard that you must first downgrade to iOS6 from iOS 7 beta in order to download and update to iOS 7. Although, when I connected my iPhone 5 iTunes notified me that there's an update available (iOS 7).

Is it possible to update to iOS 7 directly from the beta version? I also have an iPad mini, is it the same story there?
