Updating MBP 2014 to Bug Sur worth it?

I've got a 2014 MacBook Pro, currently running the last version of Mojave, and contemplating upgrading to Big Sur. I didn't bother with Catalina because I hear the performance was pretty bad, how is it on Big S? Will it slow down my Mac? I have an aftermarket NVME SSD in it aswell, will Big S throw up any issues with that?

which aftermarket nvme? Currently on big suck and in my experience it's as stable as mojave - maybe even better because it fixes some of the mojave issues in my workflow.

Don't think there are any known issues with that one - most of them are samsungs and drives that use the phison e12 controller.
