Hi

i have reinstalled my late 2009 27" imac from the original disk.

But how do I get latest OS on?

can I jump directly to capitain 10.11.x ?

I have tried and get info that I need older OS X first...
But how many older ones is needed?

You first need to run Software Update and get to 10.6.8. Then you will have access to the Mac App Store and can download El Capitan 10.11 from there.
