Upgrade ipad ios

I have a gen 4 ipad running ios 6.1.3;(it still runs perfectly). I have held off upgrading to ios 7 because of all bugs, problems etc. Now ios 8.0.2 is available. Can I go directly from ios 6.1.3 to 8.0.2, or must it be done incrementally using ios 7 as intermediate step?

You can go directly to iOS 8 (and you can't even install iOS 7 anymore as Apple doesn't support it for devices that can install iOS 8).
