I just got my new iPhone 15Pro with USB-C and I want to know which cable (or what characteristics it should have) should I get in order to be able to charge both my MacBook Pro 16" with M1 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro.

From what I've read, the maximum charging on this MBP is 100W which is not fast charge, and only the MagSafe port supports 140W for fast charge, right? So this means a 100W cable would be perfect, right?

And now the second question comes... is there any problem if I charge my iPhone 15Pro with MBP 16" charger (the one it came with in the box - 140W) and this 100W usb-c to usb-c cable? Does it affects the battery health due to the high current or something?

No, it will adjust the Wattage for the iPhone.
You can use "overpowered" charger for iPhones without any problem. It's a problem when you use underpowered chargers.

I always charged my iPhones with the 20W iPad chargers.

ok, understood.
and to be able to charge also my 16" MBP using the same cable, I should go for a 100w one, right?because that's the maximum on the usb-c port of my mbp if I know it correctly.

Same question too: can I use the braided cable that comes with the iPhone 15 series to charge the 16” Macbook Pro? Is the only downside that it can’t carry as much power?

I dont think you can charge your mbp with the iPhone 15 cable you got in the box, because it's not 100W (the maximum the mbp can take in the usb-c ports). If I understood correctly.

LE: I mean, it should charge, but very very slow.

You can use any cable but the MacBook will charge at that cables speed. I’ve charged a MacBook Pro with a slow cable. It just takes a long time and obviously won’t charge when in heavy use.

so the solution to my question is one usb-c cable with 100W because that's the maximum the mbp can take in its usb-c ports. and there is no problem to use it to charge my iPhone 15.

I bought the two pack of the two meter version of that cable. 3 meter is also an option, as is 1 meter.

ah, I thought you already have this 240w cable from Anker, and I was curious if you used it to charge a MacBook or something.
