Hi,

I have a spare 2011 Mac mini, and have my own domain name registered (with GoDaddy). How involved and costly would it be for me to use the Mini to host my own website?

I know that GoDaddy offers this service (ie a website builder, and storage space) for a monthly fee, but I figure I have the hardware, so - maybe I can run my own server instead of paying them? I also would rather build the web pages myself anyways, as I did back in the 90's (even if HTML may have advanced a bit since then...)

But - I have no idea what software I'd need to run the server, and how to set it up to use the domain that I registered... Also my current ISP has me on a dynamic IP address, so not sure if that would kill this idea before I even get started...?

Appreciate any help you may be able to offer.

Thanks
