I am a photographer and artist. normally i use pc so my external hard drive is formatted in ntfs i wouldn't mind changing the format if i had a place for everything. my hard drive is the focal point of everything i do. i have about 1 and a quarter terabytes of info on it. i have nothing large enough to take all the info. now to get to the real problem i do video editing and photo editing on a mac. so pc is for fun and mac is for work. i need to read/wright on both systems but cant afford losing anything.

Read/write is not going to happen unless you use third party program for ntfs on the Mac. What you really need is exfat or fat formatted drive for r/w, a work around can be file sharing enabled on the PC so the Mac can access the files over the network on the external drive connected to PC.
