Imagine you're sitting on your Mac at work and all you have access to is Ethernet and a VPN secured wireless connection. This is the situation I'm in 12 hours of the day. Because the VPN client on the iPhone is not supported by my Service Provider, I thought this means that I will always have to use EDGE on the iPhone while being at work. Nope, go to System Preferences (on the Mac), Sharing, Internet, and chose to share connection using the Airport in the Mac.
I know many people probably knew this already, but to me it was a nice relief finding out.
