What's your computer's operating system, macOS, Windows or others?
What's your intended destination on the iPad, a folder within the Files app, a folder in a 3rd party app, the Photo/Music Library or others?

Probably easier for the occasional item to be sent via airplay between two iOS devices. I don’t think you’ll get cable copying to work.
