(Vegan Friendly) Folio case for iPod Touch?

I recently bought an 8 gig iPod touch and I'm looking for a good folio case for it. Like, say, this one:

But here's my issue. I am what they call "one a them goshderned hippies" and would really prefer a non-leather case that would offer all the protection of those above. (e.g. this one (http://www.amazon.com/DLO-HipCase-Holster-touch-Black/dp/B000WLXO96) is great but leaves the ipod glaringly vulnerable on every side.

A Genius highly recommended the rubberized cases over the hard plastic cases, b/c the hard ones don't provide and shock absorption. I also got the anti-glare films to protect the screen b/c the case leaves the screen open.

Alas, I too am looking for a vegan folio case. I am finding it so frustrating as I wade in the deep murky waters of Google and try to pull out a faux leather folio, or anything leather free. I truly cannot believe there aren't more options out there, because, in my view, the folios are the best protection and easiest to use. Etsy has thousands of vegan sleeves for the IPod touch, but the ONLY folio i found was leather! Anyone can make a sleeve. Couldn't any of these crafty people think to design a folio!

In any case, after HOURS of searching through cyberspace, I found a few options for vegans wanting folios.

rofl. thats funny. I bet it would scratch your ipod though, and its not very practicle since you have to slide it in and out...and its huge!

Do you mean practical (not 'practicle')? Let me assure you, since you have no experience with it but making wild guesses, it does NOT scratch the iPod. Also, it's not 'huge', it easily slides into my coat pocket. Yes, its larger than a leather case, but it provides more protection AND its vegan friendly. That was a requirement that the original author of this thread was looking for.

It's not for everyone, but those who are looking for a unique, handmade and environmentally-friendly alternative to those mass-produced, plastic or leather cases, then these cases are a viable alternative.

Vegan and Eco Friendly iPad/Phone/Pod cases

Found this while looking for the same thing. I assume this product is vegan, although the question would be whether any glues they use happen to contain animal proteins (which is sometimes the case with glues). Bamboo, walnut, or cherry, and looks to cover all models, with options for either a slipcase or a shellcase. Walnut and cherry are grown in the US, and the bamboo origin is not specified but does say it does not come from the tropics.

I suppose one could inquire directly with them as to whether the product is technically vegan.

Also, this largely solves the petrochemicals issue, at least for the case (though again, without knowing whether the stains or sealants used are oil-based or not, it's hard to say - you could follow this issue down forever).
