Can someone explain to me why these two supposedly Apple GPU's each claiming to be ATI Radeon 4870's have different output connectors?
I suspect one may be a flashed PC product.

Unless Google and I are mistaken, the one with the mini Display Port (up top), is the official Apple card with 512MB.

The other seems to be a 1GB PC card, which would be flashed, yes. I can't find any official product numbers for a dual-DVI 4870 from Apple.

But there are more knowledgeable people here than I.

The card at the top appears to be the original Apple-provided 4870. Dual link DVI and a DisplayPort. Additionally, the Apple cards have the support bracket (the black frame sticking off of the front of the card).

The lower card is not an Apple 4870. As Niccador said above, there were no dual dvi versions of the Apple 4870 card. Is that middle port S-Video? Yeah, definitely not an Apple card. Probably a flashed PC card someone is trying to pass as an Apple card. If someone is trying to sell to you the card below and is claiming that it's an original Apple 4870, they're committing fraud.

Not trying to sell it to me , but there are a lot of them on Ebay all claiming to be Apple cards, rather then saying something like "Flashed to work on Macs".
It was the presence of the S-video port that made me curious.
Also I missed the Apple extended mounting support.

Thanks guys for clearing this up.

I pulled the top card from a 2009 cMP just last week. The top one is definitely Apple.
The bottom one is likely flashed as you suspect.
