Video Ipod battery

Greetings!
Hope this an appropriate forum because I couldn't post in the Ipod gear forum.I recently purchased an 80G video Ipod and I seem to have trouble keeping the battery charged. Does anyone else have this problem? I sure hate to send this thing back to Apple. Thanks in advance for any help.

Do you keep it in a dock overnight? - I know my 60Gb iPod photo discharges if I keep it in the dock with the computer off. But then again, that is with firewire...
