video playback issues, 10.14.1 public beta 2

anyone having issues with .mkv files? on the current public beta (10.14.1pb2), files stall and/or jump ahead about 20 minutes on my macbook pro (happens in both VLC and IINA).

thoughts? anyone else seeing this? (both apps are up-to-date; IINA is on the current beta)

EDIT: seems likely it was specific files, as others work...

something's up with PB2. videos i try to play on my mbp jump around or stall (most are handbrake'd from dvds, and have played fine, for years). also, if i watch amazon prime in safari (with a bluetooth speaker)... it's way out of sync (but works fine in chrome). anyone else having video issues on this beta?

EDIT: problem happens with .mkv, .avi, and .mp4 files (just mentioning)...
