After completing a clean install of Monterey on my MacBook Pro 2018, the vim editor in MacOS Recovery Terminal is no longer functioning properly. It will open the file after giving the error, but after pressing "i" to start editing, I get random letters all over the place. It's bizarre. Vim has always worked perfectly in Recovery for me before.

I would like to know:

  1. How can I get Vim to work properly in the Recovery environment once again?
  2. Are there other editors (nano is *not* available apparently) available for use in Recovery Terminal that can be used instead of vim?
If you know any of these answers, I would appreciate your help! Thank you.
