I belive that you can pay a monthly subscription that entails all your devices for most your VPNS - they allow more than one device - however, if you really want a vpn that is decent I would either recommend PIA and basically a VPN based on the fact tha:

1) it doesn't log your activity - cause if it does you might as ewll not use a VPN
2) to some extent the VPN's location is important, to the extent that location determines/affects the vpn's ability to keep your stuff privacy
3) IF YOU are looking to P2P do they allow it? Do they allow port forwarding (less important) etc

But really on of the best resource to consult for VPN is daam daam: https://thatoneprivacysite.net/

oh and i personally would not recommend either tunnelbear or hotspot...

So why do you recommend PIA and also say that the location is import? They're located in the US, which is probably the worst location to keep your stuff private.

If you're looking specifically for services that offer Mac platform clients with built in killswitch, there's a few options on this list: http://vpnpick.com/best-vpn-mac-os-x/ - I would personally recommend expressvpn because I can confirm that the killswitch works well.

However, if you want the best possible security and privacy, I would go for AirVPN. They don't use VPS or offer hundreds of servers and locations, but they have top performance regarding DNS leaks and seem to offer true VPN servers. OpenVPN or Softether can be used and a killswitch is not too hard to configure

PIA for me, but I do not use their crappy apps for the Mac and iOS. Download the OpenVPN config files from PIA. Purchase Viscosity for your Mac client, and import the OpenVPN config files. On iOS, get the free OpenVPN app, and also import the same config files (can be done during an iTunes sync). Both of these apps (Viscosity, and the OpenVPN app for iOS) work much more seamlessly.

You can't trust the reviews on this site, it's effectively setup as advertising and they will get paid for click throughs.

The only trustworthy VPN specific review site I have found is https://thatoneprivacysite.net/

EDIT 18/11/20: I can no longer confidently recommend this site as unbiased. They have recently sold their content to another company which has advertising disguised as ‘Top Ten lists’.

I'll third or fourth Private Internet Access. All VPNs have over-head (meaning your speed will decrease regardless of provider, hopefully only by a little). I have had PIA for almost 4 years and have had 0 issues. Cannot say the same for other VPN service I tried. YES, they are located in the US but the USA has no mandatory data retention policy. They cannot provide logs or information they do not collect. PIA supports (with money) EFF.org and Let's Encrypt both of which I believe are trying to make the web better and more private. They also provide resources to flash a WWDRT router to have an always on VPN connection for all devices connected to it. Also, they told the FBI to pound sand at least once. :)

Hi,
I am looking into a VPN recommendations for entire Mac and iOS devices. It doesn't need to be free, but of course if the best alternative is free, even better.
I am wondering if I can pay a monthly subscription that entails all my devices. Thanks
There are no good free VPNs. When something is "free" that means you are the product. How do you think google and Facebook became Fortune 500 companies? Not by offering "free" services. Just because it's free doesn't mean there isn't a cost associated with it. The cost is your privacy that you willingly give away to use their mediocre services.

I'm wth PIA and i've recently been cut off from the vpn connection when i start to download anything. It will get 20 seconds in then die on me. I thought it was my isp so i switched and its still the same.
Any body else have this issue?

What type of VPN protocol are you using? (PPTP, IPSec OpenVPN) the newer MacOS no longer supports PPTP due to its insecurities. What OS are you using? Another thing, depending on what network you're accessing they may not allow the ports you need to keep a tunnel established. Post more info like what protocol you're using and what platform it's on (Mac, Windows, etc).

Edit: Not to be rude but I doubt it's PIA related. I've had a VPN tunnel established for over a week on PIA gateway without issue or disconnection.

More than happy to pay for it. I'll take a close look at PIA. I checked them before at https://thatoneprivacysite.net/ but they did have some issues over there, but again, it seems all VPNs seems to get few negative reviews on this site.
