Did you find a workaround or did you use wifi? I don't have wifi in my dorm, so it seems as though I can't hack it from here...

If your Mac has Wifi, you can do it without a router.

I've tried setting up a computer to computer network, but haven't had any luck SSHing to my iPhone...I'll give it another shot though...should probably start in my firewall settings...

I did find one tiny spot in my room where I can get the campus wifi network, though. SSH and such works fine over that. Any way to set up my MBP to act as a repeater for the campus network?

to share internet through your macbook you need to enable internet connection sharing
goto system preferences
then goto sharing
under internet enable sharing.
should be able to go from there.
