Watch to Watch messaging

Hi folks,
Having trouble sending messages from my watch to my partners. And all the tapping, heartbeats and drawing isn't getting through.

Any ideas please?

Also only on my partners message options, the text (BRB etc) is in Chinese or Japanese! Any ideas on how to get it back to English?

Thanks for your reply. I appears we needed to set up our messaging as phone numbers and not email addresses. We can now communicate via the watch.

The Chinese thing appears to be that my phone was left on the Chinese setting(in error) the sat time I text her.
