I'm trying to build some ports in macports, it asks for Xcode 14.1.

I find this weird, too. Need it to update Homebrew... (and probably more).

There is a 14.1 RC2 available, released yesterday, though, but no "final":

I'm experiencing the same issue. Are there any drawbacks to installing Xcode 14.1 RC2? Will I be able to upgrade to Xcode 14.1 when it is released using the App Store?

Code:
% sudo ./restore_ports.tcl myports.txt
Error: The installed version of Xcode (14.0.1) is too old to use on the installed OS version. Version 14.1 or later is recommended on macOS 13.

I downloaded Xcode 14.1 RC2 from https://developer.apple.com/download/applications/, extracted the .xip, and dragged the Xcode.app to applications. After running through the migration steps again here there are no issues.

Does anyone know if it's possible to just update Xcode from RC2 to the official 14.1 (once it comes out) or do you need to remove the RC2 first?

I have the same issue when I upgrade to macOS ventura. Now I can't use macport to install any programs.

When will the Xcode 14.1 release?

Same problem here. I have been holding back on upgrading to Ventura until Xcode 14.1 is released publicly...which will hopefully happen today 🤞

I has been downloaded the Xcode 14.1 RC2 and Command line tools, and installed them. Recently, macports 2.8 is working well on my MacBook.

Thanks for letting me know. Still prefer to wait for the normal release of Xcode 14.1. A few more days won't make a difference now and by them time it's out, I hope that many ports have already fixed problem related to Ventura. I have been upgrading to the latest macOS on day 1(clean install) for several years in a row now and there were always ports that were broken.

Macports with XCode 14.1 RC2 compiles a bunch of unnecessary stuff and takes forever to compile the stuff I use regularly. No, useless for the moment.

I don't mind MP compiling from source, as long as ports are not broken 🤷‍♂️

First time Apple ever released a MacOS with no Xcode support to develop on it. I guess I have to wait...

Literally everyone else has just used 14.1 release candidates to build their Ventura software, including Apple. I wouldn't worry too much about it.
Very weird though.
If I install the 14.1 RC, how does the upgrade process to the release version of 14.1 look like? Will the App Store version of 14.1 overwrite the RC?

EDIT: Nevermind, the App Store was just updated with 14.1
