What are processes in round brackets ?

Hello,

i have a scarry problem with my mac and the Utility "LanScan" (from the AppStore).

after 10-15 minutes crashed the Utility LanScan and lock all Network Connections.

On the Mac, no network will work anymore. No Ping 127.0.0.1 etc..
Network Enable / Disable does not help here either.

I can deactivate the LanScan program, but unfortunately it remains a process.
Sample:

# ps -ef|grep -i lanscan
501 800 697 0 6:14pm ?? 0:00.13 (LanScan)

This Process cannot be killed... (pkill / kill -9) (root)....

Only Reboot help in this situation.

Any hints ?

Delete the app and reboot. Use another app from the store or https://angryip.org/download/#mac (Requires Java 11)
